Paper Pumpkin - September 2014

This was my first month getting Paper Pumpkin! I got one in my starter kit with Stampin' Up and blogged about that kit here if you want to take a look! I signed up for Paper Pumpkin as soon as I signed up as an Independent Demonostrator with Stampin' Up. How could I not? I love discovering new crafts and ideas and I love that someone else is telling me how to do it! There is no point in re-inventing the wheel people! Stampin' Up even sells Past Kits or refill kits if you want to make more!

For September we received "Boo-tifull Bags Kit" - which is a set of 6 burlap bags decorated with stamped tags and sequins. I took my daughter, Adeline, to the library this morning and took my Paper Pumpkin box. Only other craft supply I needed was a pair of scissors, wet wipes or stamp cleaner, and a stamp block. I brought along more dimensionals and the tape runner, but didn't need them!

Here are all the supplies. The tags came in sheets that you have to punch out, then I stacked them on the coordinating backer papers.

First I worked on the tags - stamped them, then placed stickers, then attached smaller tags to the larger tags using Stampin' Dimensionals provided in the kit to give the tags some dimension of course!

Close up of the dimension the dimensionals give!

Next I put the tags on the bags with the clothes pins and sequins. I didn't have any candy to put in the bags at the library so I just tied the black string around the bags loosely so I'll have room later.

I had plenty of supplies to make the bags, but then I had leftovers! I can't wait to use these on other crafts - cards, boxes, or just use as tags on other Halloween treats!

These craft supplies can be used in lots of different ways. Be sure to check out Paper Pumpkin's Pinterest page to see how others are creating with Paper Pumpkin, find out different ways to use the same products!

If you are interested in signing up with Paper Pumpkin it is only $19.95/month with shipping included. Get your friends to sign up too and have monthly crafting parties putting together your kits.

Crafty March

This month I got few things made for my shop and worked on a custom order for a family friend.

Linda wanted a couple custom shirts for a friend who is having a baby soon, and I love working on custom shirts and coming up with ideas. Here is a onesie made special for the little boy, Rex!

The parents like all things nautical and beachy so we made a couple onesies!

She also picked out a few burp clothes and another onesie from my shop for baby Rex! Thank you Linda for supporting my business!

Since I was on a roll I went ahead and made a couple onesies for the upcoming Great Cloth Diaper Change. I may make a couple more, we'll see.

We have now settled on a new location, and I am very happy since it is a lot closer to our house! It will be at Crossroads Church - 4827 Delray St NW, Roanoke, VA 24012.

While away one day for a crafting a sewed up a bunch of leggings and finished them last week. Adeline loves to wear her leggings!

Bazaar Preparing and New Hair!

Each time I've gotten my hair cut recently I keep going shorter! Yesterday was no exception and is the shortest I am going! I decided that I needed a new cut for the Craft Bazaar so I went to my favorite salon - Salon Del Sol. My usual hairdresser (Nikki) wasn't in, and I can only go when I have someone to watch Adeline so I got Becky. She understood what I was looking for and did great!

Here are a few more items I've made for the Bazaar this Saturday and I shipped off more ETSY orders today! I was also asked to do a Fall Open House in November, I'm still thinking about that one. But it's definitely going in the right direction!

Craft Bazaar - October 20, 2012

I've decided to participate in a Craft Bazaar on October 20, 2012 to sell some of my wares. I've been busy busy making more things to sell, at the moment I'm not going to list new items on my ETSY site until after the show in hopes that I sell them there and no listing fees on ETSY!

So if you are in the Roanoke, VA area come on out - Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, 402 Hershberger Road, Roanoke, VA from 9am - 3pm.

I've been very blessed the past few weeks, my ETSY shop has really taken off and I've sold a few things and had a few custom orders. It would be great to make the extra income my family needs since I'm now a Stay at Home Mom to Adeline!

Here is a banner I made for my table at the Bazaar, lighting in my basement is not so wonderful...

Here are a few onsie's I made with the new Light Blue Flocked material I got this week:

This was a custom order. The customer saw THIS onsie and wanted it in blue instead.

I also got some Purple and Green flocked material and can't wait to make a few items with that as well. Thinking a green tractor and maybe a blue one too.

TEETHING!

This week has been something. Miss Adeline has 4 upper teeth coming in at the same time! Two have already poked through with two more following. For a couple days I forgot to put her amber necklace on and I could definitly tell the difference! When she has it on she is such a happier and uncranky baby! The days I forgot, oh me!

So since she is being a bit more needy than usual I haven't got much done this week. Working on some items for my ETSY shop - bibs! I'll post once they are done. They are all cut out and pinned together waiting for me to have some time to sew, have about 5 all with the same cute Giraffe print fleece.

Adeline is working on pulling herself up. For my birthday last Saturday (8th) she pulled herself up for the first time in her crib!!! I think I cried a little! Crawing will happen any day, she is so close and tries all the time. She is also trying to pull up on everything. Though, like the doctor said, she's a very content baby and usually just happy to sit and play. Here's some pictures of her from the past couple weeks. Most are cell phone pics so sorry for the crummy pics!

Trying to pull up!

Likes to visit mommy's craft room - she scoots and moves around some on her butt

Attempting to stand!

We've gone to B&N several times and she gets to play with the trains!

Love this hat! Just didn't want to pay $16 for it!!! yikes.

On my birthday when she stood up all on her own!

Marie loves Adeline!

DIY Baby Shoes

Yesterday I went Olde Salem Days and while there bought some super cute shoes from Crazy Leggies and they inspired me to make some for Adeline. I used the Modern Baby Bootie Tutorial from Tao of Craft. These are my first attempt and I am a beginner sewer so they are not perfect! But they are wearable and hopefully I learned a lesson or two so I can make more for Adeline!

Any recommendations on how to sew a straighter line in the curve of the shoe? That was my worst newbie mistake!

Hairbows! DIY

Adeline doesn't have enough hairbows, I can never find one to match certain outfits. So I decided to make some of my own. Michaels had their Fall Stems on sale last week for $0.99/each - which is a great deal! Here is how I made the flower hairbows:

1 - Pull the flower heads off the stems - they came off very easily for me and I just cut off any excess stem with scissors so the back of the flower would be as smooth as possible.

2 - Cut out felt circles dependent on the size of your flowers. You can buy pre-cut circles, but I had felt already and didn't want to spend extra $$!

3 - Using your glue gun connect the hair clip to the felt. I put a line of glue then clamped the clip down, then added more glue on top to attach flower to.

4 - Once the flower head is attached it will look like this:

5 - Add hot glue and finish attaching felt to flower:

6 - And you are done! I made all 6 in about 30 minutes.

If anyone would like for me to make some for them let me know.
