Adeline's Nursery

As soon as I knew I was having a girl I knew the exact bedding I wanted for the room. I had already painted the room the year before knowing it would be the nursery. It was painted a "lime" green, I knew I didn't want  pink walls!

I purchased the Kids Line Dena Happi Tree 9-Piece Crib Bedding Set at Babies R Us. They have since changed the set to not include bumpers.
I had a lot of fun looking on Pinterest for ideas for the nursery. One of my first projects was to make size tags to hang in the closet. They turned out great using wooden circles, scrapbook paper, and mod podge. I cut out the numbers using my Silhouette. They are two sided - the other side is the numbers that were cut out.

My next project was book slings! Here is a tutorial, not sure if it is the one I followed or not but it is one of the ones I referenced. Once Adeline gets older I may have to switch out the brackets to the ones like in the tutorial, but at the time this was all I could find.

I found this gorgeous Owl Lamp on Etsy in a shop that is no longer open. It wasn't cheap - but I couldn't find an owl lamp anywhere online that I liked any cheaper. So I took the plunge. I bought the lamp shade at Wal-Mart for around $5 then followed a tutorial for the flower rosettes. SUPER EASY! Loving the lamp but the base is a little uneven so not as sturdy as I'd like.

I also made a name banner for the baby shower that I wanted to use in the Nursery after the shower. My first one was paper and it was not that great so I decided to sew one. Super easy project, just used a template to cut out the triangles, sewed front and back together, then used pre made bias tape to hold together. I cut out Adeline's name using my Silhouette SD and ironed them on.

I created roman blinds for the room as well using this tutorial. No great pictures of the blinds though, sorry. The owl decals beside the window were created using my Silhouette SD.

Alan and his dad built the dresser and bookcase, they are exactly as I pictured. I wanted a handmade crib as well, but time was not on our side and this one is perfect.

We were given the glider second hand and it had this ugly blue fabric. So I purchased this coordinating fabric at JoAnn Fabrics and recovered the the cushions.

The nursery has it's own half bath. The hubby remodeled it right before the baby came! He laid down tile, stripped UGLY wallpaper then painted it to match the nursery. He installed the base and shoe molding, new light fixture and a mirror. It is great now, makes the diaper clean up a lot easier. We now have a Cloth Diaper sprayer installed, I'll leave that for another post.
