Weeks Family Christmas 2014

This year we celebrated our first Christmas in Bristol. We had all our family come to the new house to start new Christmas traditions. It was great having the open floor plan of the new house, so that no matter if you are cooking or relaxing on the couch we are all together! That is all I wanted for Christmas was for everyone to be together and for Adeline to have all her favorite people, and that is exactly what I got.

Adeline asked for two things for Christmas - a 4-Wheeler and a Dollhouse. Over Thanksgiving she rode her cousins' 4-Wheeler and fell in love! Then of course Bass Pro Shops got one just her size and put it on display, she squealed and ran to it every time we went to the store. We ended up ordering her one and she absolutely loves it.

Instead of buying a brand new Dollhouse I decided it was time that my doll house was handed down to her. I got it when I was older but she is so mature for a 3 yr old I knew she would love it.

We had fun with all our extended family and Adeline loved opening all the presents!

The aftermath!

Adeline got to go outside and play with her 4-Wheeler. It was a bit wet so she didn't get a lot of traction and she is so lightweight that doesn't help either.

We had a very blessed Christmas. Alan and I were gifted by his parents a brand new TV! We still hadn't ventured into getting a flat TV so we were long over due for one! Here it is all set up! We were lucky enough that when the house was remodeled they put it in outlets above the fireplace for a wall-mount TV.

I can't forget my parents either, they gifted us with a new laptop. I use it so much for my Etsy & Stampin' Up Businesses so I needed a new one and this new Dell is awesome!!!

I didn't get a ton of pictures as I was busy enjoying my family and feeling a little ill. I am still feeling eh and I hope to get some of the grandparents pictures to add!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

Bristol House Tour - Adeline's Room

I've shared Adeline's room before, but now it is DONE (other than window shades)! If you can't tell from my previous posts, Adeline is in love with horses. So when we moved to Bristol I decided to move her up to a Twin bed and get horse bedding. Then I picked her up some horse decor - I am so happy we are near Hobby Lobby (Kingsport).

View from the door of her room
The area above her bed is pretty blank, but I plan on getting some pictures of all the horses printed on unframed canvas' (so if they fall they won't hurt her) and hung above her bed.

She sleeps in Alan's old bed that still has a few of his stickers on it, she loves to look at them.
Adeline has a huge closet that I am envious of! I have a teeny tiny closet in the Master Bedroom, the sacrifice I made for a 2nd full bathroom!

The pink sign doesn't really go with the Horse theme, but Adeline picked it out herself. We found these super cute horseshoe hangers at Hobby Lobby - $2.50/each on sale. They are heavy metal too.

Signs says - "Princess of Everything"
Our little girl is growing up so fast, we are so proud of her. Everyday she amazes us with her personality and knowledge.

A little horse sittin'

If you can't tell by now, Adeline is horse crazy. Only because she is Paw-Paw crazy and she knows horses and Paw-Paw go together! If we go visit the grandparents in Newport, it is a must to go visit the Farm and all the horses & cows.

Rusty, Chavo, and Jessie

Uncle Scott got Cash all saddled up so Adeline could sit on him. She was so excited!

We came in for the weekend so Alan could hunt during his time off so Adeline was in heaven getting to spend several days with the Grandparents.

Love this girl! She is so sweet and cuddly, of course she was getting cold too.....

Happy Halloween from the Weeks'

**Well I just got on to post a different post and realized I forgot to post about Halloween and the pictures! **

I've never been much for celebrating Halloween, but as Adeline gets older I'm trying to be more festive with all Holidays. I got out my Halloween decorations the week of Halloween and we carved out pumpkin a couple days before Halloween. Adeline picked out Sophia the First to carve in the pumpkin. I think I picked the most complicated design in the book!

Adeline loved helping us get all the guts out!

Then she watched while I traced & carved.

She is so proud of her pumpkin! Thank goodness too, it took long enough to carve!

Halloween night ended up being very cold and rained! So no Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhood! Thank goodness Bass Pro Shops was having a Halloween event with in-store Trick-or-Treating, so Adeline still got to have some fun!

Adeline of course was ELSA, like every other girl out there! We already had this costume and she loved it, so I ran with it.

She loved it and had a great Halloween, we hope you did too!

Halloween Treats

I have been having fun being a Stampin' Up Independent Demonstrator! If you know me personally, you know that I love to craft so this is a dream job for me. I can't always think of original things to do, so it is great to be given ideas and provided the supplies needed! Stampin' Up offers lots of Kits for any project you'd like to do. I decided to make some Halloween goodie bags to hand out since we are new to the neighborhood, so I used some kits and accessories.

One of those kits is Paper Pumpkin - it is a monthly subscription kit that contains all the stamps, ink, paper, and accessories needed for the craft project in the kit. For the September Kit we got these super cute Burlap treat bags I showed in a previous post. I gave one to my husbands Grandmother when we went to visit her last weekend and the rest I'll be giving away on Halloween.

On my last order I picked up the Pumpkin Pie Goodie Gear Simply Created Kit, which is on the Clearance List. It makes 10 goody bags and took me no time at all to put together! All I needed was a stamp and ink!

On my last order I got some Chevron Tag A Bag Gift Bags to try out so I went ahead and made more Trick or Treat goodie bags. I used my Chalk Talk Framelits to cut out the tags from Tangelo Twist paper and used a couple different stamp sets - Paper Pumpkin Sept. Stamp (BOO!), Fall Fest (Ghost & Pumpkin), and Gorgeous Grunge (splatter). I loved the quality of the bags, they aren't just your regular paper bags, they have a more cottony feel to them.

Hope you and your family had a safe and happy Halloween!

Can't Thank You Enough

This past weekend I had a workshop in Blacksburg. We made several great cards and crafts! I broke out the November Paper Pumpkin, we made Christmas Cards, and a Thank You Card.

I found the idea for this card online (Stuck on Stampin'). I loved her card and the colors but the colors and paper she used are no longer available with Stampin' Up. So I had to reconfigure the colors. I looked in the catalog at the Designer Series Paper and picked which one I liked the most. I went with Confetti Celebration because I loved the colors and patters! Next I looked at the colors listed for the paper pack and decided which ones to use for the other parts of the card.

I used:
  • Tangelo Twist for the card base
  • Bermuda Bay for one of the banners and the ribbon
  • Basic Gray for one layer
  • Whisper White for the tag and banner
  • Tangerine Tango for the stamped images
I love the color combinations and so did everyone at the workshop!

Here are some of the products used in this project:

Family Fun - Cleek Farms Corn Maze

We had a great time visiting a local Farm for some fall fun. Cleek Farms offers a corn maze, bounce pillow, cow train, hay/wagon ride, and lots of activities for kids! We ate lunch there, they have a BBQ vendor and the food was great. Adeline had so much fun she didn't want to leave but it was getting busy and we had been there awhile! This was a super easy farm to get to and not that far from us in Bristol, VA.

First stop was the Bounce Pillow! Adeline spied this before we even got through the gates. Thankfully she was easily swayed to go see other things. Unfortunately she played on it again right before we left and wasn't too happy to be leaving! There were just too many big kids and she couldn't even stand up at that point.

Next we spied an awesome play set - a Tractor and Hay Wagon made out of wood!

Needless to say, she loved it! She'll be talking to the granddads about her Christmas list now!

Up on the hill behind the play set was a huge sandbox, horse tire swings, corn box, and a water faucet race.

Next we were off to the cow train! Adeline did not like it, she said it was "too bumpy!". She rode it last year, but she was in my lap. So I guess I was the cushion.

Then we got in line for the Hay Ride! Which for us was more like a wagon ride since ours didn't have hay, just benches. I am not complaining, I'm allergic to hay! Adeline was so happy to spend the day with her daddy.

Hard to get good shots on the hay ride since I was behind Adeline and Alan. Oh well. Adeline said Paw-Paws tractor is better, and it's Blue!

After the hay ride we played a bit around the farm. We decided the corn maze with a toddler wasn't so good, so we skipped it.

We did get a chance to get this awesome family picture!

I hope everyone has a Wonderful Fall and Happy Halloween!
