New Obsession!

So after reading all the blogs I follow and seeing everyone rave about Annie Sloan Chalk Paint I decided I had to have it! I have several items I want to use ASCP on.

Here's my list of upcoming plans:

  • Bedside tables - they are mismatched. Alan's is a hand-me-down that is ugly green and mine is a store bought cheapo. So they will at least be the same color, with possibly some same color accents.
  • DVD Tower from Michaels - one of those bare wood ones you finish yourself. I stained it, but the color doesn't match the rest of our furnishings.
  • Two Dressers - one I used before Alan built me one for Christmas in 2010. The other was Alan's and since my dresser is so big I just combined all of our clothes to free up some space in our bedroom.
  • Rocking Chair from Alan's grandmother. Have to ask the mother in law about this one first - want to make sure it's not "special" first as is. So Reba, can I?
So my first projects will be mostly for my house and to keep. The dressers I will sell once I paint them since we have no use for them (Adeline has a handmade dresser too!). I'm hoping that this will be a hobby I'll enjoy and can make a little bit of money from.

If you are local (Roanoke, VA) I got my Annie Sloan Chalk Paint from Black Dog Salvage. They even mentioned they are looking into doing some classes soon! If you aren't local you can check for retailers near you through Annie Sloan Chalk Paint website.

Have any of you used ASCP? What were your results, post a link to your blog and your results in the comments if you wish!

I've spent a little bit of time on Pinterest looking for ideas:

New Hair!

I've been wanting to go short all summer and I've finally done it, when it's starting to cool off! Oh well, it still feels great. I usually get my hair done by Nikki B., but I'm a spur of the moment person and she wasn't working tonight! So I got Alex, and he was great! So if you are in the Roanoke, VA area check out Salon Del Sol - I recommend either Nikki B. or Alex!

Hard to tell from the pictures but here is the new 'do.

So what do you think? Been awhile since I've had a short cut and I like it.

Claytor Lake - Impromtu Photo Session with Adeline!

While at Claytor Lake we decided it was too cool for Miss Adeline to go swimming so we went down to the water and decided to watch the boats go by. We were down near the Gazebo when I spotted this beautiful tree with gold moss and decided Adeline needed some photos taken!

This is my favorite!

Claytor Lake - Adeline's First Camping Trip

This past weekend we went camping at Claytor Lake with my parents and brother in their RV. This was Adeline's first camping trip! She did great, the first night took some adjusting and by the second night she slept great. It ended up being a pretty cool weekend so we didn't get to take her to the beach on the Lake, but we still had fun.

PHOTO BOMB!
Yes, it's a Bumbo on a table!! There are 5 adults right beside her. NO worries!

Where we spent 90% of our time this weekend!

My brother...ugh...

Happy Baby!

Fell asleep on her walk - love her socks? They are mine! Forgot hers of course.

Kabuki's!

Last Saturday was date night, well it ended up being family night! I was craving some Kabuki and I thought Adeline would love the show.

We got stuck with a boring Chef, but oh well. Adeline still enjoyed it. I was actually very happy with Kabuki in that they have actual high chairs, and not those crap wooden ones everyone has. So I recommend Kabuki for kids for this reason! The place was over run with kids that night.

Adeline looks scared in the picture, but she wasn't - just caught at the wrong moment!

Family Picture!

Adeline ate some of the Kabuki food - she liked it.

9 Months of Wonderful

Adeline is 9 months old today!

Adeline goes for her 9 month check up on Wednesday! Can't wait to see how she is doing, which I know she is great!

She now loves to rock herself from sitting to on her belly. Adeline is more physical now, wanting to move constantly while being held and flipping back and forth and scooting around on her belly.

Adeline loves to bob her head to music - any type of music! You can see here in this previous post.

Here is her 9 month photo shoot:

Camp Tuk-a-way

Each year Alan's moms family has a week long reunion at Camp Tuk-a-way in Blacksburg, VA. So Adeline and I went to visit for a day. Two of Alan's cousins also arrived the same day we were visiting so Adeline had plenty of other kids to play with! I didn't get many pictures - but here is Adeline and the kids playing.

We recently moved Adeline out of the infant tub that goes in the sink and moved her into the bathtub! She is loving the new tub!

Stay at Home Mom

Being a Stay at Home Mom is wonderful. I am so blessed that Alan and I were able to make it work so I could stay home with Adeline.

We are almost to crawling people!!! So glad I'll be able to see her crawling first!

 Big Girl Toys!

This is what I live for - holding my sleeping baby before I lay her down!

These have been floating around on Facebook, they say it all...
