Too Hot

It is crazy hot today! We ran some early errands now home playing. Adeline took all her toys out to play! Grandparents are coming over later to babysit so mommy can have a girls night out. We are heading to the movies to see " Magic Mike". I`ll write up a short review tomorrow.

Happy 4th of July

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July celebration on Wednesday! We had a very subdued day. It was Adeline's 4th of July and I wanted to celebrate and take her to parades, fireworks, etc. but due to the power outages and heat we stayed home.

My parents and brother came over to spend the afternoon with us and have a cook out. We were able to take an awesome family picture!

Adeline loves to pose and smile for the camera so we also got these great pics of her in her Red, White, and Blue outfit for the 4th.

Drool Pads for Baby Carriers

So my planned post for Chalkboard Tags isn't ready yet. The paint has to set for 24 hours before I can use chalk on them, so look for that post in a couple days. Instead I'll share with a recent sewing project, Drool Pads for Baby Carriers.

I have an ERGO Baby Carrier and decided I wanted to make some Reversible Drool Pads for the straps instead of buying some so I could add some color as I bought the Galaxy Gray Original ERGO. I stalked on Pinterest to find a Tutorial and I found a couple - Lu Bird Baby and Simply Sweet Life. So I looked over both and used elements from both Tutorials. At the time I made these I wasn't planning a blog so didn't take in progress pics - but the tutorials are great with awesome pics to follow if you want to make your own. If you don't want to make your own but are interested in a pair, let me know and I can make you some!

Here is the pair I made for Adeline, had to be pink of course!

I also have an old college friend who has moved to Hawaii. She has a Boba Carrier so I made her some Drool Pads for her carrier:

Here are the babies and their drool pads:

Edited to add - wow this post has had a huge number of viewers! Let me know, are you looking for how to make them or someone to buy from? I've considered selling these in my ETSY shop, let me know!

Welcome to my blog!

After spending the past couple weeks reading blogs and doing a lot of thinking I've decided to start my own blog. I love to DIY from directions found online or just things I think of (which I think are original, but most likely not!).

I've decided to make my blog a mix of DIY and Mommy. Yes, the dreaded MOMMY blog! I have a 7.5 month old, how can I not blog about our ever changing lives and the adventurers of Mommyhood!

I love to do crafts. Currently my big crafty adventure is sewing. However I also scrapbook with a great group of local ladies - Queen Bee Croppers of NRV. If you are local and looking to join a scrapbooking group, we welcome new ladies! If you don't use Facebook we also schedule crops here - Group Spaces.

Thank you for reading and I hope to entertain each and every one of you with my future posts.

Upcoming: Using chalkboard paint for a craft for the nursery.
